Winter Fuel Payment
Many of us worry about rising fuel costs, but not heating our homes properly puts us at risk of cold-related illnesses such as pneumonia.
The Winter Fuel Payment will be made to everyone over State Pension age with an income of £35,000 per year or less. You do not need to take any action, payments are made automatically.
If your income is over £35,000 HMRC will take your Winter Fuel Payment back by either changing your tax code or adding the amount to your Self Assessment tax return.

Scam awareness
You do not need to do anything to receive the Winter Fuel Payment this year.
If anyone gets a suspicious email or text from GOV.UK, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) or the Department for Communities asking for bank details, they should report it to Action Fraud. You should not respond or click on any links.
