Age NI is proud to support Act Now, Age Better, a UK-wide campaign led by Age UK to encourage people to take simple, positive steps towards a healthier later life.

We’re living longer than ever before, and how we age will be shaped by the choices we make now. Act Now, Age Better highlights the powerful role that regular movement and physical activity can play in helping us stay well, independent and connected as we get older.

BBC Northern Ireland sports presenter Stephen Watson, who has joined the campaign as part of Team Age Better, is encouraging people to make movement part of everyday life:

"Sport is so important to me, not just because it is my job, but it is my passion. I love reporting on sport, but I love playing sport as well. And as I’m now 50+, I'm focusing on staying active as much as possible through playing golf and trying to walk 10,000 steps every day.

If you’re thinking about starting some exercise or starting to play some sport, remember there’s an activity for everyone. As long as you’re moving and you’re exercising it will make you feel so much better."
