Power NI staff have donated an amazing £2000 worth of stock to Age NI.

Staff at the three Power NI offices across Northern Ireland took part in a stock donation drive over the summer, to help the charity raise vital funds to support older people across Northern Ireland.

The goods, which included everything from pre-loved clothing and shoes to bric a brac, will be donated to our four shops in Ballymena, Bangor, Carrickfergus and Coleraine.

Funds raised will enable Age NI to provide advice, care and support to older people to help them stay independent, connected and inspiring them to love later life.

Gwyneth Compston, Energy Services Manager, Power NI said:

Power NI have been working with Age NI for over ten years now, providing a range of advice and support to older people to help them make the most of later life.

“This summer, our staff were really keen to get more involved, and do something to support older people in their community.

“We decided to do a stock donation drive across all three of our sites (Belfast, Antrim and Omagh), as we know that Age NI are always in need of donations for their shops. We’ve been absolutely blown away from the enthusiasm and support of our staff, and are grateful to our Antrim office for contributing an amazing £550 worth of stock.

“As an organisation, we are really passionate about giving back to the local community, and hope that these stock donations will go a long way to supporting those older people who need it most.”

Brian Loughridge, Commercial Director, Age NI added:

“We are so grateful to the staff at Power NI for their generosity and support. Each  bag of donated stock is worth on average £11, so it really does make a difference to older people across Northern Ireland.

“Our four shops stock a wide range of quality pre-loved clothing, accessories and homeware, and we always rely on donations like this to help us raise vital income for the charity.

“I’d encourage any business thinking of doing a similar initiative to Power NI to get in touch with us, and we can help arrange for a collection. Or if you’re doing a clear out, why not drop in to your local Age NI shop - we would always welcome any extra donations.”
