We know that there are 78,000 older people who are living alone in Northern Ireland. With strict measures now in place around social isolation and shielding for those who are most vulnerable, many older people are in need of vital support.

We have already seen a 30% increase in calls to our Advice and Advocacy service from concerned older people.

We’re determined to be there for older people who need our help and especially those who have no one else to turn to, but we desperately need your support.

We have now launched a check in and chat telephone service for the over 60’s in Northern Ireland who feel isolated during this time. It is hoped that the initiative will help provide some reassurances to older people, answer basic queries and link people to local services and support during the Coronavirus outbreak.

By donating today, you will not only be helping our staff who are answering our free-phone advice lines, you will also be supporting us to:

    • Deliver personalised care, emotional support and guidance to older people both over the phone and face-to-face through our care services
    • Advocate on behalf of older people to ensure they receive the health care they need during this time
    • provide more funding to over 9 Age Sector Networks across Northern Ireland so they can support their local communities in many ways, including with delivery of food parcels and medicines

    Please donate today.

Your donations are vital to ensuring that we can continue to be there for older people in the weeks and months to come.

We want our message to be clear, if you’re an older person in need, Age NI are here for you.
